THE search is on to find the next star of from the Five Valleys, and the winner will take to the stage at one of the biggest festivals to take place in the district this year.

After the huge success of last year's Chalfest's Got Talent, the organisers are opening the competition to even more artists and talented individuals from the area.

Event organisers say that they were 'blown away' by the level of talent that they had enter the competition last year.

"We were blown away by the brilliant performances we saw last year in our very first CGT," a spokesperson said.

"This year we hope to discover even more local stars in the making.

"Show us what you've got and we'll give you the opportunity to showcase your talents to our lovely Chalfestival goers."

Anyone aged over 11 years of age who live in an area which starts with a GL6 or GL5 postcode is being invited to enter.

All that talented hopefuls have to do is send a video of them showing off their special skill to the event organisers.

Judges will not consider entries from anyone who does animal acts but are looking forward to seeing musicians, singers, dancers, magicians and circus acts - and more!

A panel of judges will then select a shortlist of the strongest acts to take forward for a day of live auditions on Saturday, July 7.

To enter please submit a short video, no more than 3 minutes, showcasing your talent via info@chalfest.co.uk or a link to a clip online

Categories for the July 7th auditions are under 11's, 11-16, and over 16's

Each of the four schools closest to Chalford has the opportunity to put forward a winner of an in-house competition to the auditions day on July 7

Entrants must live in the GL6 or GL5 postcode area, in the case of bands or groups at least half the group must be from within the qualifying area

Closing date for entries is June 10th at 11.59pm.
