The only Liberal Democrat on Stroud town council has defected to the Conservatives.
Cllr Steve Dechan, who became the first Lib Dem on the council in 24 years after a by-election in Sepetember, took to Twitter on Wednesday, June 6 to announce his defection.
We have to beat Labours Corbyn. In Stroud I am joining the Conservatives to allow Europeans to work in UK.

The Trinity Ward councillor later told the SNJ: "My principles haven't changed - it's about how I can best deliver them."
Both Stroud Conservatives and Liberal Democrats have been contacted for comment.
