A NOVELIST and retired neurologist from Pitchcombe has released his latest novel, which is an intriguing psychological murder mystery.

The former professor of clinical neurology, Harvey Sagar, is now writing his fifth novel after his latest release 'Sorrows to the Stone'.

Speaking to Harvey about his work he talked of his inspiration for the book.

"I was keen to try something more serious but also fictional, after a number of books inspired by my background in medicine," said Harvey.

"Gradually, I have found myself in the swing of writing fiction and that's where 'Sorrows to the Stone' came in.

The book follows the adventures of Muonasa, an African prostitute who is trapped in London and her connection to a magic stone.

Harveys books are influenced by his medical background and the plethora of experiences they provided him with as he dealt with a range of people.

Of course, some of these were sad and other were in his words 'frankly humorous'.
