THE PAINSWICK Summer Festival will return to the picturesque village this weekend.

There will be plenty for all the family including face painting, ciders, rubber duck fishing, homemade food and live music courtesy of The Royal Oak who are hosting the festival.

The SNJ spoke to landlady, Lucy John, who outlined her hopes for the event.

"We are very excited to be hosting the Summer Festival this weekend," said Lucy.

"Entry will be free and there will be an array of ciders to sample, music from fantastic bands, rustic homemade pizzas and plenty of fun for the kids.

"If the weather is good we hope to stage all bands outside in the glorious courtyard garden of ours, with food served all day."

Performers will include Harry Pane the acclaimed indie song writer, The Rock Bottoms, popular Painswick artist Colin Western and Luke Philbrick with Damon T who will play traditional roots and blues.

England's World Cup game against Panama will also be shown on the Sunday.

The Festival will take place at The Royal Oak in Saint Mary's Street, Painswick this Saturday between noon and 12pm and this Sunday between noon and 8pm.
