A TEENAGER has spoken out after he was subjected to an unprovoked attack in Stroud in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Aspiring actor and former SGS College student Lucian Mykel, 18, had been enjoying a night out with friends when the incident happened in London Road.

He was walking home to Brimscombe when he saw a group of people around 3.20am.

Two lads broke off and verbally abused him before punching him in the jaw.

“It started when two of the lads broke off from the group and walked towards me, it didn’t take long before they punched me in the jaw,” said Lucian.

“To be honest I felt very emotional afterwards and I wasn’t in a good place.

“The injury to my jaw meant I couldn’t eat for two days and I also hurt my knee when I fell over.

Additionally, there have been several reports of anti-social behaviour in the Heavens area on the outskirts of Stroud.

A suspected robbery took place at the beauty spot earlier this month and police believe this may be linked to the weekend’s incidents.

The Heavens is a popular spot for teenagers to congregate and camp at weekends in the summer months.

A spokesperson from Gloucestershire Police said: “We can reassure people that we have no information to suggest there is a wider issue across the town in relation to attacks on teenagers.

“Trends are regularly reviewed and the local team respond quickly to issues and community concerns.”

Police are urging people to come forward with information in relation to any similar incidents.

Call Gloucestershire police on 101 quoting incident 85 of June 16.
