Three textiles and fashion students have represented Stroud High School in the final of Young Fashion Designer of the Year.

Liberty Leatherbarrow-Stokes, Erin Downey and Edie Bainbridge attended the Midlands Centre Finals at The Royal Grammar School, Worcester, on Saturday, June 23.

The girls displayed design and practical work and were interviewed by industry professionals.

Liberty was first runner-up and Erin finished third for their GCSE entries, whilst Edie gained second place for her A Level work.

Mrs Lazenbury, textiles teacher at Stroud High School, said she was ‘thrilled’ by the result.

“It is an incredible achievement as the standard was extremely high in both categories,” she said.

All finalists were given presentations by former winners currently studying fashion and textiles at university and took part in a knitting workshop.

They also received prizes including textile equipment from Morplan.
