Savvy Seniors - Vue Cinema, Thursday, July 19 at 11am: Edie, starring Shelia Hancock as 83 year old Edie who believes that it is never too late; she packs an old camping bag and leaves her life behind to embark on an adventure and climbs the imposing Mount Suilven in Scotland. Use your bus pass to travel into Stroud, £3.99 pays to see the film and tea and biscuits.

Cotswold AONB Wardens’ Walks in and around Stroud. Next Monday, July 23 - meet at Minchinhampton Common car park to the rear of the church off Bell Lane. Walk to find out about Minchinhampton’s historic link with Caen, France. Walk through Gatcombe Woods to Longfords Mill and to Box village, past old stone caves and back to the Common. 3 hours, 5.5miles. All walks return to the starting point. Parkrun happens every Saturday promptly at 9am on the field on Oldends Lane. It is for everyone - experienced runners and beginners, old and young - just come along and join in. It is free for all. If you have ever wanted to take up a running this is for you. Come along and find out - you will be very welcome. And now every Sunday at 9am Junior Parkrun - for young people age 4 - 14. Slightly shorter distance - just 2k. Congratulations to everyone who joined in the inaugural event last Sunday and thank to all the volunteers making this happen.

Kings Stanley Sports Club - we are now open to all for coffee, tea, bacon rolls and delicious home baked cakes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9am - 2pm. Come along and take in one of the best panoramic views in the county whilst enjoying some light refreshment.

Calling All Walkers. Did you know that there is a new handy waterproof walking map? This has been specially commissioned and shows all the available walks within a 3 mile radius around Stonehouse. At only £3.99 it is available from ‘Whole Hearted’ and ‘Hurns Hardware’. Dust those walking boots off and discover your local walks.

Stonehouse Library, Mondays, 11.30am – 12 noon. Story Time for pre-school children. A new session for young children to discover the delights of hearing a story read to them. And on Wednesday at 10.30am the library welcomes toddlers for Bounce & Rhyme, a great way to introduce your babe to the world of books and music. The library also provides books on the Reading Well scheme.
