An exotic bird was found on Minchinhampton Common this morning and those who caught it need help re-uniting it with its owner.
Kenny Lynch, a university lecturer who lives nearby, was out for a run on the Common when he came across two women trying to catch the bird.
He helped them catch it and one of the ladies took the bird back to her house in her handbag.
But, as she does not have social media, she asked Kenny to take to Twitter to ask for help getting the bird home.
Callout to local tweeps: help us re-unite this exotic bird (budgie?) with its owner, found on #Minchinhampton Common this morning just above #Pinfarthings close to @beaudesertpark #Amberley @sdc_wardens @stroudnews DM me if you know the bird or its owner. pic.twitter.com/fAG08LsnYi

If you recognise the bird or are its owner, Kenny has passed on the woman’s phone number - email alex.clark@newsquest.co.uk and we will put you in touch.
