Farming in Stroud was celebrated at the weekend when a country show started in the Victorian times returned for its 148th edition.
Stroud Country Show took place at Stratford Park on Saturday with the theme ‘My Stroud is…’, giving those in the agricultural and horticultural business in the area the chance to showcase their livelihoods to the public.
Alongside plenty of livestock and produce, the Show, held on July 21, also saw a tug-of-war competition, dog show, circus skills workshop, and a Punch and Judy show.
Show attendees also witnessed bands battle it out for the chance to feature on BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
This year’s show was the first for new committee chairman Wendy Fabbro, who wanted to bring a ‘fresh and vibrant feel’ to the whole show.
“A huge thank you to all the very hard working volunteers who were so wonderful.
"We think there was well over 5,000 people having a grand day out," she said.
