PETER Chambers, Land & New Homes Director at Perry Bishop and Chambers, reports that the market for all forms of development property has been strong over the first six months of the year.

Despite a degree of uncertainty about our financial and political future, both developers and private buyers remain very keen to acquire sites and buildings for conversion.

As one of very few locally based independent agents having a specialist department dealing with all types of such properties, it is very encouraging to be able to report such strong interest across the board.

This year we have secured sales on a number of individual plots at locations including Ewen, Nailsworth, Clanfield, Perrotts Brook and Tewkesbury to a mix of private individuals and builders.

We have handled instructions from a variety of sources during 2018 including Stroud District Council, HFT, NHS Property, Gloucestershire County Council, Punch Taverns, many church denominations, as well as private clients and commercial organisations.

As a company, we have sold more than 70 former church properties during the last few years not only in the Cotswolds, but also right across southern England.

This has recently included a major Listed group of buildings in the centre of Trowbridge and the former Cirencester Baptist Church.

We now hold instructions to offer four more churches in Gloucestershire.

New homes are now an increasingly important sector of the business for Perry Bishop and Chambers.

We hold a wide variety of instructions across Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire from local, regional and national developers.

We offer a specialist bespoke service co-ordinated by our New Homes Development Manager, Helene Parker-Joel, working with our six office branch network.

“We have experienced a very buoyant and successful six months with some extremely exciting new developments coming to the market with several more to be launched in the second half of the year”, comments Helene Parker-Joel.
