A road linking Cainscross and Paganhill will be resurfaced later this month.

The A4171 Paganhill Lane will be shut for repairs from Monday, August 20 to Friday, August 24 between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

Work crews will use 435 tonnes of material to resurface 3,675 square metres of the road.

At the roundabout with Painswick Road/Beeches Green, take the second exit and continue along the A46 (Beeches Green) to the next roundabout.

At the double roundabout take the second exit and again the second exit and follow the A419 (Cainscross Road) in direction to the Cainscross.

The diversion is the same in reverse.

Gloucestershire County Council hopes scheduling the works in the school holidays during off peak times will minimise disruption.

County councillor Vernon Smith, who oversees Gloucestershire’s highways, said: “This important scheme forms part of our £150m promise to improve Gloucestershire’s roads.

These works will have a major benefit to local businesses and residents in Stroud.

I would like to thank road users in advance for their patience and cooperation while this essential work is carried out.”
