REASSURANCE has been given after a worried member of the public spotted an injured cow, on Minchinhampton Common yesterday.

This was brought to the attention of the community via the Facebook page, Nailsworth Chat & Information.

Mark Dawkins, who has worked as the hayward at the popular beauty spot for nearly 20 years spoke of the cows condition.

"It seems likely that the cow is just lame and it should recover without complications," said Mr Dawkins.

"The cow may have injured itself naturally or caught a foot infection if its feet were too soft or hard.

"If the cow does have an infection it will be given antibiotics and should recover well."

He went on to explain how the grazier will be sent out to assess the cow shortly.
