A STROUD charity has invited members of the community to join its sponsored walk throughout the 'beautiful' Five-Valleys.

Meningitis Now are inviting families on the walk which is to place across the Coswold countryside this Sunday, September 30.

Carrie Bater, event organiser at Meningitis Now, said: "We’d love as many people as possible to join us on the day.

"Whether it’s for the full 21 miles or just a couple, everyone is welcome and the walk is suitable for all ages and abilities."

The sponsored walk supports the charities lifesaving and life-changing research as well as raising awareness and supporting those who suffer from the devastation of meningitis.

"There’s food, drink and entertainment along the way and of course dogs are welcome - it is a wonderful day out that all the family can enjoy, added Ms Baker.

Prospective walkers should meet at Stroud Cricket club and checkpoints are open at 8.30am and close at 5.30pm - parking is free.

Tickets cost £10 for adults or £5 for children (under 5s free)

Groups of up to four people, bought in advance are only £30.
