Trees in Stroud have had to be cut down after they were vandalised.
Two trees, one of which is lime, have had their bark stripped off in the Leazes play area off Parliament Street at the top of town.
The lime tree is so damaged that Mike Dando, who manages green spaces around Stroud, has had to chop it down as the tree was unlikely to survive.
He suspects whoever damaged the trees used a knife.
Anyone who knows who might be behind the tree vandalism should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 345 of August 14.
