An art exhibition with a difference will be held at Stroud's Subscription Rooms next weekend.

Nailsworth Rotary Club are holding the charity art sale from 2-5pm on Saturday, August 25.

Artwork has been donated from professional and amateur artists alike but all pieces have only been signed on the back.

Visitors are therefore challenged to 'Discover the Artists' themselves.

Each work will be the size of a large postcard and available to buy on a first come first served basis.

Every piece of art has been priced at £40 but some will be worth hundreds.

Artwork from Sophia Hughes, Monique Oliver and Rachel Pegler will be available to buy, if visitors can identify their handiwork.

In total more than 150 artists, including exhibitors from the Royal Academy London, the West of England Academy in Bristol, Twigworth Nature in Art Gallery have donated work.

Sheila King, Vice President of Nailsworth Rotary Club said: "The standard of work is fabulous. We are sure there will be lots of fun when people start to try to guess who painted what and find out what they have purchased."

Half the money raised will go to Rotary charities with the rest going to support art projects across the five valleys.

The artwork is available to view from 10am-5pm on Friday, August 24 and from 10-1pm on the day of the sale.
