A PROLIFIC burglar and shoplifter from Quedgeley was jailed for 29 months last week after he admitted a catalogue of offences.

Tavoy Weston, who is 30 years old and from Quedgeley went before Gloucester crown court last Thursday for offences which included burglary and breaching an order that bans him from Gloucester city centre.

He was also before the court for nine offences of shoplifting from Tesco, B&M, The Fragance Store, Superdrug and Iceland.

The court heard that Weston is such a menace to shopkeepers and small businesses that he has been excluded from the city.

By admitting the offences he accepted he had breached the order excluding him from the city centre 11 times in just 10 days last May.

The judge noted that Weston had been given chances by the court, but they hadn't worked and ruled that the offences were serious enough for an immediate custodial sentence.
