Stroud District Council is joining forces with coaches and clubs to lay on free sports activities this Saturday. free of charge at The Pulse in Dursley.

The Active For Life Health and Wellbeing Day is being held at The Pulse in Dursley and Stratford Park Leisure Centre, Stroud.

Booking is available online although there will be some activities, including a climbing wall, for which booking is not required. Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service is joining in the fun and will also visit the Dursley site.

Sessions will run from 8am to 5pm.

Council leader Doina Cornell said: “The council’s leisure centres are great assets to our district and I am proud of this council’s commitment to sport and leisure to help promote the health and wellbeing of the people who live here.

“There is something for everyone to try for the first time or perhaps return to a sport that they used to do.”

Events at Dursley include: the climbing wall, PiYO, a fusion of pilates and yoga, Hatha Yoga, strength circuits and Try-Out Tri, a mini triathlon.

Spin sessions, mat pilates, a health walk and soft play will also be available as well as public swimming at a reduced rate.
