AN ARREST has been made following a burglary in Stroud on Wednesday night (September 13) which prompted a police helciopter search.
Police responded to a report of a break-in shortly after 9.35pm on Wednesday during which four iPhone handsets were stolen.
Officers requested the support of police helicopters after a man was believed to have fled across town centre roofs.
Despite an extensive search both on foot and from the air, over several hours, no one was located.
However this morning (Friday, 14) police have released a statement to say that a man has now been arrested in connection with the incident.
A police spokesperson said: "A 48-year-old man from Stroud has been arrested on suspicion of burglary in connection with the incident.
"He remains in police custody awaiting questioning."
Anyone who has any information about the incident should contact the police on 101 quoting incident number 489 of September 12.
