Christian Comment with Christine Colby, Methodist Local Preacher

NO ONE is perfect.

We all make mistakes and get things wrong.

There is not a single person who is perfect – except Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

God’s Son is the only example of a perfect human being.

Jesus became one of us but he never did anything wrong.

The coming of Jesus reaches across the great divide that our sins have created and enables us to come into the presence of God.

We do not deserve God’s attention, and yet He longs for us to come to Him.

How do we know?

The life, death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ, shows us God’s love.

God longs to hold close to His heart those who believe they unable to come to Him.

Knowing this truth how dare we judge one another; and yet we do.

When we look at people we make a judgement of who they are by how they look, behave and speak.

Yet we do not fully know anyone else; only God does.

There have been times when I have been driving when people have made rude signs at me and it has upset me.

I have no idea, though, what stresses they have in their lives that causes them to behave in such a way.

What right do I have to condemn them after only a brief moment in time?

They are God’s children too; He sees who they are, and He loves them.

In the bible we are told in Psalm 139 that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

God made us; and God loves us.

When we look at one another we should realise that we are looking at God’s creation.

So however people behave we should always remember that God created them; He loves them and He loves you.

We all do and say things wrong, no one is exempt.

Jesus died for everyone so that when we do get things wrong we can own up, be forgiven and start afresh.

God longs to be close to each one of us.

Therefore know that you are loved and love as He loves.
