Residents and staff at a care home in Cirencester are inviting people from the community to join them for tea, cake and a lot of fun on Thursday.

The event, which will take place Ashley House Bupa Care Home in Trafalgar Rd, on Thursday afternoon will raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Between 2pm and 4:30pm, aside from delicious refreshments, there will be entertainment from musician Brian Slade, a ‘Guess the weight of the cake’ and‘How many sweets in the jar’ competitions and raffles.

Guests will be able to keep their energy levels up during the fun-packed afternoon with the homemade cakes, biscuits and savouries that will be on sale.

All proceeds from the afternoon will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Resident experience manager, Annie Ruddick says that the afternoon will help to raise vital funds as well as being a lot of fun.

“Not only do we raise awareness for a great cause but we also bring together the community for an afternoon of fun.

"We are hoping that people from the local area will join us in supporting Macmillan,” she said.

The Macmillan coffee afternoon will take place on Thursday, September 20, from 2pm to 4pm at Ashley House Bupa Care Home, 118 Trafalgar Rd, Cirencester GL7 2ED.
