FLYING scholarships are being offered to Stroud youngsters as part of a new initiative.
Kemble Airport and resident charity fly2help will give 10 young people the chance to take to the Gloucestershire skies.
The mini-scholarships, open to 15 to 18 year olds, include five hours flying tuition on microlights and fixed wing aircraft, tours of Kemble airport and other aerospace companies and guidance on careers from pilots and other aviation professionals.
"These flying scholarships are about more than just flying," sais David Young, Kemble Airports manager.
"There are so many varied career paths within the world of aviation - we are not just looking for future pilots."
Application forms and further information can be found on-line at www.fly2help.org.
Closing date is January 31, 2008.
