A TEENAGER who was charged with assault and criminal damage appeared in court saying it was because she was angry.
Emma Cox, aged 18 of King Street in Stroud, tried to enter a friend's house, but when he would not let her in, Cox slapped him in the face.
Stroud Magistrates' Court also heard how Cox threw a fire bucket at a car in Tesco's car park in Stroud causing damage to the rear of the vehicle.
She pleaded guilty to both offences on Thursday and said: "Basically there was a disagreement with a friend in the car and everything got out of hand."
On the matter of the assault she added: "There was a rumour and it got out of hand. I just went to talk his girlfriend but he wouldn't let me through and it made me angry. It was my first reaction."
Cox was given a conditional discharge for 12 months.
