THOUSANDS turned out to enjoy the sun and festivities at Randwick Wap on Saturday.
This year's Wap mayor, Stan Giles, and Wap Queen, Josie Chomicz, who were both elected by the village in March, were carried from the war memorial to the pool on chairs.
Town crier Calvin Williams, who is also chairman of the Wap committee, dunked Stan in the water and the crowds then processed up to the Well Leaze.
Josie and Stan rolled double Gloucester cheeses down the hill before being carried to the playing fields and presented with certificates and pottery.
The ceremony was then followed by a range of entertainment, including a circus and dog show by pet shop Paws for Thought.
Visitors also had 25 different stalls to chose from, and there was a bouncy castle, crockery smashing and maypole dancing.
"It was a wonderful day and everybody had fun," said organiser Sheila Bliss.
