Well folks, dare I say, “It’s all ‘appenin’ this week!”. Most excitingly of all has to be the first market (of many we hope) for Good Small Farms, a new vegetable, fruit and cut flower grower based in Stroud itself, at Hammonds Farm on Wick Street. These last few years we have been very conscious here at HQ of a distinct lack of applications from primary producers; farmers. In fact, Brexit seemed to precipitate a move away from market garden growing, as labour was short and unaffordable meaning several of our growers ploughed up and went arable. So, we are delighted to be able to introduce Good Small Farms to the market. Like when we introduced Quiggies Piggies a couple of months back, it does mean we have an even greater selection of raw produce available now. On the veg front, Good Small Farms will be the 6th weekly vegetable grower on the market. That, however, is why we exist. we want to bring the freshest produce possible to our customers, and we want more and more people from the 5 valleys to have access to the best.

Also back this week for the start of the season are Bow in the Cloud Vineyard with the new vintage and Besley’s Fruit with their first tunnel Strawberries, which is always a delightful addition to the range, especially for the seasonal eaters among us! Gardeners will be pleased to see the return of Malvern Salvia, with their extraordinary range of Salvias, and Julian Harvard also returns with a variety of vegetable and flowering plants.
