NEIGHBOURS and families in Stonehouse marked the coronation with a picnic and barn dance.

Stonehouse Town Council organised the special event, which took place on Sunday, May 7 at Laburnum Park.

Local band The Bees Knees provided live music, encouraging those with picnics to get up and dance.

Joining in the fun was Stroud MP Siobhan Baillie who paid a visit to the events in the park.

Inside Stonehouse Community Centre, Stonehouse in Bloom served refreshments, cakes, and sandwiches.

Meanwhile Stonehouse History Group displayed historical photographs, including images of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation celebrations in 1953.
