THE RANDWICK Warp returned for its 51st year after its revival in 1972.

It is believed to date back to medieval times.

The event comprises of a costumed procession, ceremonial cheese rolling, a Mayor elect, May queen, and their entourage.

This procession then moves through the village, aided by "The Mopman", to a spring where the new celebrities are "wetted" before they roll two Double Gloucester cheeses down a hill to determine the fate of the season's crops.

This is run in conjunction with a fayre on the village green.
