A FEMALE cashier was held in a headlock in an attempted armed robbery in a Plumstead post office.
At about 8.30am, a young man walked into the post office, in Brewery Road and attacked the woman. He ran off empty-handed as soon as the alarm went off.
The man is described by police as white, about 20 years old and 5ft 11in tall. He was stocky and wearing a white puffa-style jacket with a blue hood and black trousers.
