STUDENTS from Stroud High School and Sixth Form visited the House of Lords, Westminster, yesterday, to attend a formal lunch and talk on 'Engineering for Clean Water'.

The 'Engineering for Clean Water' event was described as being informative and inspiring, while promoting valuable insights into careers in engineering.

The opportunity for SHS students to engage in conversations about engineering, especially with industry leaders and peers from other schools, was invaluable.

An SHS spokesperson said: "The event not only broadened the students' perspectives on the diverse facets of engineering but also emphasised the crucial role it plays in addressing global challenges, such as ensuring access to clean water.

Assistant headteacher for technology and digital strategy Mr Watts said: "The House of Lords setting added an extra layer of significance to the occasion, creating lasting memories for both the students and myself.

"We were also able to meet with our local MP, Siobhan Baillie, to share our thoughts on the event.

"I believe that experiences like these are instrumental in shaping the aspirations and career choices of our students, and I am grateful to have been a part of this educational journey with them."
