Well December kicked off properly chilly last weekend, but it was perfect for the market and Goodwill evening. Unfortunately we appear to be back to the clammy warm wetness for the rest of the week!

We are delighted to announce that there will be a market add-on this week, with an Arts and Crafts market taking place in the Baptist Hall. These markets will be taking place every Saturday for the next three weeks alongside the farmers’ market and offer a weatherproof space to local makers to exhibit their work. Do pop in to have a look. There will be lino cut prints, ceramics, glass work, illustrations and even vegan shoes!

At the Farmers’ market we begin a few December bookings exceptional, as Godsell’s Cheeses attend every week through to the 23rd. This year the same applies to Woodchester Valley Vineyard who begin their run of three on the trot this Saturday. It’s also the last market of the year for Stainswick Farm rapeseed oil and the Painswick Honey lady (who has some gorgeous candles!) plus Pascale Stanley Jewellery and Cotswold Soaps.

We had Nicky Doodson and Julian Harvard with wreaths and other Christmassy decorations last week and they are both in again this Saturday. It will be Nicky’s last one, but Julian will carry on. Foodwise, again a little reminder about getting orders in for Christmas. You may wish to consider that there is no market on the 30th December, so you’ll be buying for two weeks!
