A SECONDARY school in Stroud is celebrating after achieving an Outstanding Ofsted result after a recent inspection.

Stroud High School received a visit from inspectors on Tuesday, November 7 and Wednesday, November 8. 

The school, which had 1,098 pupils on its roll between 11 and 18 years of age at the time of the inspection, achieved an Outstanding grade - the highest possible - in all five main categories. 

These are - the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management plus Sixth Form provision.

It also received an Outstanding grade overall. 

Inspectors said: "Pupils thrive at this exceptional school.

"The school is determined that pupils experience ‘the exceptional every day’, and they do.

"Parents value the high quality of education and care that their children receive.

"Pupils benefit from an extensive range of opportunities to inspire and foster their talents and interests.

"Teachers have a firm and common understanding of what pupils should learn, and when.

"Sixth-form students are prepared exceptionally well for their future destinations."
