JUST IN - 25-year-old man dies following serious assault in Cirencester


A 25-YEAR-OLD man has died following a serious assault in the centre of Cirencester.

Tim Jennings, from Bibury, was in a critical condition at Frenchay Hospital following the attack in Market Place in the early hours of Saturday, June 27. He was among more than 100 party-goers who were out that evening enjoying a fundraising night for Cancer Research at Bar Code in Black Jack Street.

The coroner has been informed and a post mortem is due to be carried out by the Home Office Pathologist.

Two 18-year-old men from Cirencester were arrested and held in custody until Monday, when they were released on conditional police bail until July 20. Police would still like to hear from drinkers who were in Bar Code in Cirencester during the evening of Friday, June 26 until the early hours of Saturday, June 27.

They also want to speak to anyone who witnessed a disorder in Market Place between 1.30am - 2am on Saturday.
