Councillors launch project to make Stroud tourism centre

AN AMBITIOUS project to make Stroud the South Cotswolds centre for tourism has been launched by the town council.

Members claim a joint effort by local organisations to promote outdoor pursuits and festivals would support the complete regeneration of the district.

Now they have set up a working group to explore the different ways of making the dream a reality.

Jes Waring thought of the idea after a visit to the Pennine Centre in the town of Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire.
