A LONG line of coins stretched its way around the playground of The Rosary School in Beeches Green, Stroud recently.
Pupils brought in all their loose change to raise money for Cafod, which helps those living in poverty around the world.
Each class competed to raise the most money and make the longest line of coins.
It was Year 6 that triumphed with the longest line – theirs measured 80 metres and 95 centimetres long – while Year 2 raised £70.52, the most money.
The whole school raised £345.25 altogether and made a line of coins which stretched twice around the upper school playground.
Headteacher Rosy Savory said: "The children really seemed to enjoy the day.
"It acted as a fun mathematical challenge, as well as raising money for a great cause."
