FRUIT, vegetables, meat, free range eggs, cheese and bread, were just some of the locally produced products for sale in Bisley on Saturday.
The sale, outside Bisley Village Hall, was held in conjunction with Gloucestershire County Council's Love Food Hate Waste campaign.
Other councils across the south west of England are also taking part in the four-week campaign, which aims to reduce food waste.
Bisley resident Lyn Hemming, one of the organisers, said: “As well as locally produced food, there were eco-products and books for sale, plus plenty of information about the campaign.
“The event helped to raise money for the newly founded Bisley Environment and Sustainability Trust set up to fund-raise for a number of projects including a community orchard.” To mark Halloween, children from Bisley were encouraged to bring along a carved pumpkin to enter into a competition for the chance to win a children’s book on environmental issues. As part of the regional campaign, GCC is also asking residents to make a pledge to reduce their food waste by visiting www.recycleforgloucestershire.com.
