Police investigating a number of burglaries in Cheltenham are trying to find the owner of an MP3 player by asking possible victims to ‘name the tune’.
PC Tom Finnikin explained, “We have recovered two MP3 players that we think may have been stolen and we’re keen to see them returned to their rightful owners.
“When we examined the items to try and identify the owners we noticed that one of the players, which is blue and similar to an ipod shuffle, only has one album of music on it. As such, we’re asking anyone who thinks this item may belong to them to call us and name the album.”
Officers are also trying to find the owner of a white TCM MP3 player, which was also recovered.
PC Finnikin continued, “Some victims may not have identified that the player was amongst items stolen during a burglary at their home, or thought that they had lost or mislaid it. We’re encouraging owners to check their property and if their MP3 player is missing and matches the description, to contact us.”
A 44-year-old Cheltenham man has been arrested in connection to the burglaries and has been bailed to return to the Police Station on January 8.
If you believe that you are the owner of either of these items please contact PC Tom Finnikin at Gloucestershire Constabulary on 0845 090 1234.
