A BRIDE who won her dream wedding after competing in a challenge which involved holding a tarantula and wearing a wedding dress for 24 hours every day for two weeks has tied the knot.
Lisa Thompson, 38, who lives in Paganhill, Stroud and works as a learning mentor at Archway School, was persuaded to enter Heart FM Gloucestershire's Til Dress Do Us Part competition by a friend.
She had to compete against other brides in various challenges and in the final one she and another bride had to search for their respective grooms at the Cheltenham Regency Hotel.
Lisa was the first to find her fiancé, Neil Herbert, 39, which meant she won her dream wedding worth £10,000.
The couple married on Monday, December 21 at St Mary Magdalene Church, Walkley Hill, Stroud and held the reception at the Cheltenham Regency Hotel.
Neil said: "The effort Lisa put in during the competition was phenomenal – we hardly slept. "The whole of Stroud got behind Lisa, she is gorgeous and I am so pleased to be married."
