VANDALS wrecked a classic car by smashing its windows and setting it alight in Bisley Road, Stroud.

Owner Victoria Sangwine and several neighbours heard glass smashing and saw flames rising from the brown 1971 Rover 3500 S around 2.45am on Tuesday, December 22.

Two other cars in the road, a red Ford Ka and a white Ford Transit pick-up, were also vandalised on the same evening.

Self employed furniture designer Victoria, 35, who bought the car two years ago, was due to travel in it to her own wedding in May next year.

"I am very angry, not just because of the malicious nature of the attack but because whoever did it thinks they have probably got away with it," said Victoria, who moved to Bisley Road early this year to live with her fiancé.

Officers carried out house to house inquiries in the area this morning, Wednesday, December 23, to appeal for witnesses.

Anyone with information about the attack on the three cars should contact police on 0845 090 1234 quoting incident 166 of December 22.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
