MOTORISTS are warned not to travel southbound on the M5 this afternoon, Thursday, January 28, due to long tailbacks near the Almondsbury Interchange.
Two lanes are currently shut between junctions 14 and 15 for Thornbury and Falfield after a lorry driver was killed on the hard shoulder following a collision around 7am.
police are treating the area as a crime scene after the driver, who stepped out of his cab, was struck by up to two other lorries which then failed to stop.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said it was possible the other drivers may not be aware they hit anyone.
