Plans revealed for firearms training centre to be used by Gloucestershire Constabulary

PLANS have been revealed for a state-of-the-art police firearms training centre in Portishead, near Bristol, which would be partly used by Gloucestershire Constabulary. The centre, which would be built at the disused Black Rock Quarry, would also be shared with Avon and Somerset Constabulary and Wiltshire Police. The plans first need approval from the Home Office and funding has not yet been confirmed. If Government funding is approved, the indoor centre is expected to open in 2014.
