15,500 potholes now fixed in Gloucestershire

Gloucestershire County Council has now repaired more than 15,500 potholes since the start of Operation Road Rescue.

Last week, 3,006 potholes were filled by teams from Gloucestershire Highways.

Since January 25th, the teams have been out around the county repairing potholes, patching and resurfacing roads that were badly damaged during the freezing weather.

We have diverted 30% extra highways staff into dealing with repairs so there are 70 gangs out on the streets repairing the damage as quickly as possible.

Last week we carried out 9,000m2 of patching work at the following locations: East * B4077 Tewkesbury Road * A429 Sweetslade * A429 kemble * Tetbury Road, Leighterton Central * Eastington * Down Hatherley * Station Road Gloucester * A46 Horsepool Hill, Edge * Clarence Road, Cheltenham * Wellington Road, Cheltenham * New Road Minchinhampton * The Butts, Minchinhampton * New Barn Lane, Cheltenham West * A417 Staunton Court * Court Farm, Kempley * B4234 New Road, Whitecroft In the last week teams have carried out the following surfacing schemes: * Belle Vue Road, Cinderford (complete) * Seymour Road, Gloucester (ongoing) * Cowcombe Hill, Chalford (ongoing) For more information and to view our pothole repair video, visit www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/roadrescue.

Trouble is luke warm ashalt put into a frozen pothole will not last to the easter break, let alone a nice hot summer.
And yes I have spoken to more than one gang on site and they agree a total waste of time and effort.
