A CELEBRATION of wonderful landscapes, extraordinary people and even plastic toys, all from every corner of the world, comes to Stroud's Subscription Rooms this week.

Foto Forum, the Stroud valleys-based group of photographers, are holding their annual exhibition, entitled On the Road, at the Stroud Subscription Rooms.

Tony Moth's large, breathtaking, black-and-white shots of Cornish coves contrast with Mike Ballentyne's intimate, colour studies of Pacific islanders and Buddhist monks.

And, while Fred Chance explores the faces and daily experience of gypsy travellers and the stunning interiors of their caravan homes, Mike Komarnyckyj chooses to focus on his collection of Ninja Turtles in the privacy of his cool living room.

Margaret Lister brings us brilliant juxtapositions - including billboards and classical statues - from Belfast and Rome; Bill Henley manages to capture reflective moments in the lives of Parisians that are ladened with pathos.

From further afield, Cherry Ionides images of daily life in remote Peruvian communities play against those of hamlets in the superb uplands of Nepal.

Nailsworth, Kashmir and Colorado provide Jonathan Leach with plenty of scope and ingedients to examine colour, form and composition; and, finally, Carlos Ordonez attempts to capture something of the scale and pace of life in modern China - from Shanghai's bicycle traffic to surprisingly tranquil scenes of a nursery school group.

The Foto Forum On the Road exhibition runs from Tuesday, July 19 to Saturday, July 30. The exhibition is open between 10am and 5pm Monday to Saturday. Entry is free.
