THE LIVING Room @ The Space will be hosting a vibrant and varied double bill for the last gig before the summer break this weekend.

For the main event they have The King's Cross Hot Club, from London. Think Django Reinhardt meets Gene Pitney in Budapest and you will get some idea of the richness of musical influences on this band.

This London based septet have a real feel for those classic gypsy Hot Club elements of duelling acoustic guitars and violin, bound together with ragtime syncopation, vintage New Orleans-style improvising and a joyously eclectic repertoire.

Complete with brass section and vocals full of swing and swank, their set is guaranteed to nourish all work-worn souls.

As with all Living Room @ The Space nights, the audience are invited to sit and listen to the musical delicacies or get up on their feet - whether it's Lindy-hopping or pogoing that gets them going - and dance the night away.

The King's Cross Hot Club will be supported by The Domestic Goddesses, classy local acapella singers who spice up their set with wit and great frocks, pop songs from the 40s through to the 80s all delivered as recipes from heaven - or maybe hell.

The gig takes place at The Space, Lansdown, Stroud on Friday, July 15. Doors open at 8pm, as does the bar.

Tickets are available from Riffs Music Shop or Kane's Records in Stroud or on the door, priced £7.50.
