SHORTWOOD will face a tricky home test against Hellenic rivals Bishops Cleeve in the FA Vase first round after comfortably defeating Cullompton Rangers at Meadowbank on Saturday.

Mark Sumpter and Ian Freebreey's side have already felt the full-force of Paul Collicutt's side, who dished out a 4-0 league thrashing last month. Cleeve travel to Nailsworth on Saturday, October 29.

JAMES SINGH ended his goal drought with a match winning brace to ease Shortwood United comfortably through the FA Vase second qualifying round at Meadowbank on Saturday. Singh opened his account on nine minutes with a clinical volley. United made it two on 29 minutes. Gareth Davis' cross saw new-boy Simon Harmer nod in his second goal in three games. The goal glut continued. Chris Greenough made it three on the cusp of the break. United increased their lead on the hour. Tim Haddock finished with aplomb as he turned on the edge of the box.
