STONEHOUSE Methodist Church’s Summer Fayre was a resounding success on Saturday July 10, with the church hall very busy from 11am onwards.
There were a wide variety of stalls, including a barbecue, jamjar tombola, cake stall, guessing corner, bric-a-brac stall, splat the rat, an odd one out competition and a display by the Stonehouse History Group, which generated a lot of interest.
The local Christian gift shop, The Light, also had a stall, and there was face-painting for the children, which proved very popular with even some adults had their face painted.
Former Stroud MP David Drew judged the cake-baking competition, and the winner was the minister’s wife, Catherine Thompson, who won a bone china two-tier plate stand.
