WORLD Cup winning legend Gordon Banks is coming to Stonehouse to help raise much-needed funds for the town’s football club to help them progress.
At present the 1st team play in Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division 1 and in order to progress to the next league need new changing rooms and a better ground.
The event is entitled Gordon Banks - An Evening With A Goalkeeping Legend and will includes a three-course meal at The Whitminster Hotel on Friday, April 1 from 8pm.
Gordon Banks will give a 45-minute talk about his life as a footballer, winning the 1966 World Cup, his incredibly save against Pele and much more.
There will also be a chance for questions and he will also be signing memorabilia.
A large variety of sporting memorabilia will be auctioned at the event including a signed shirt from current Manchester United player Paul Scholes.
Individual tickets cost £40 before February 1, and £45 thereafter with a table of 10 costing £400. To book please call 07786 080409.
