Last night mounted police searched the towpath in Doctor Newton's Way in Stroud for missing teenager Harini Payagala, with no success.
The 17-year-old was last seen in the Stratford Road area of Stroud around 11am on Friday.
Officers believe she could be hiding in woodland or garden sheds and are urging residents to check all outbuildings.
Harini is described as Asian, around 4ft 10" and of very slight build. She has long black hair which is usually in a ponytail. It is not known what type of clothing she was wearing when she disappeared.
