IT IS reported that council tax will be frozen for another year. However, the Government cannot force councils to freeze the bills, but it is offering to give to those that limit spending rises to 2.5 per cent the money they need.

The £850million will be funded by efficiency savings. Of course, Labour say the electoral will save only £72 per person per year, but it’s better than nothing.

Then we have the government promising to give councils money to bring back weekly bin collections, only if councils wish to do so!

Surely changing back to weekly bin collections the councils will be reaping the benefits – more money coming in from the Government.
