MORE than 600 pupils turned out for Thomas Keble School's annual six-mile walk for charity on Friday.
The pupils came and went in droves according to year group, walking down from their hilltop campus at Eastcombe and following the canal towpath along to Brimscombe, then up through Chalford, then back to school.
Headteacher Chris Steer said: "We were fortunate with the weather and the children were very well behaved.
"We are hoping to beat last year's total and raise more than £11,000 for charity."
Sponsorship money is currently being collected.
St Rose's School Smile Appeal and Winston's Wish plus the NSPCC, Cancer Research UK and international charities Afrikids and Help Japan will benefit from the proceeds.
