GLOUCESTERSHIRE County Council has set out its new vision for libraries in the county.
The fresh strategy will see no changes to libraries in the Stroud district from the previous proposal, with libraries hours in Nailsworth and Stonehouse reduced to 12 hours and the service in Minchinhampton handed to the community.
Stroud Library will keep its full hours.
Cllr Mark Hawthorne, GCC leader, said: "We have approached this with an open mind and really considered how these proposals would impact on all our residents."
GCC’s previous proposals were thrown out by a high court judge because of the failure to take into account the vulnerable users.
Since then GCC has taken advice from the Equality and Human Rights Commission to come up with the new proposals.
Its cabinet will be asked on Friday to agree to a six-week consultation, starting on January 30, for users to comment on the proposals.
