ONLY four places remain on a six-week gardening course run by Stroud Valleys Project which aims to help women build up their confidence and reduce their stress levels.
Starting on Thursday, February 23, between 10am and 1pm, SVP will work with a female-only group at their allotment in Bisley Old Road.
SVP project officer Ivi Szaboova said: "Latest research shows that more women are suffering mild to moderate mental health problems so we decided to offer a special course for women to help them tackle low self-esteem and combat stress.
"Recently we noticed that a significant number of women who enquired about volunteering with SVP were put off by joining existing groups with large numbers of men because they didn’t feel ready to volunteer in a predominantly male working environment.
"A women-only group could help them get their confidence levels up so that later on they might consider moving into mainstream groups."
Anyone interested in securing a place on the ‘Get Growing’ course should contact Ivi on 01453 753358 or ivi@stroudvalleysproject.org
